Para la ilustración de la Cascada Mágica, básicamente comencé esbozando una referencia de perspectivas y volúmenes en papel, esto sin necesidad de escanearlo lo convertí en masas sin detalles en freehand como primer paso digital, el efecto de entintado que daria paso a los detalles mas adelante en éste mismo programa. Suelo trabajar las lineas abiertas, casi nunca cierro los objetos para rellenarlos de color, éste proceso se lo dejo a Photoshop.
Luego de definir los detalles en freehand, simplemente copio y pego un solo elemento como base del tamaño del nuevo documento, generalmente a 300dpi pero he logrado detalles mas definidos a mas dpi. Éste layer lo elimino y voy de nuevo a freehand, donde por bloques copio para luego pegar en Photoshop las capas que seran coloreadas por categorias, elementos o profundidad.
Los elementos los voy rellenando de un color base, luego juego con el lazo y dibujo las sombras, esto me permite, tomando como ejemplo las rocas, colorear solo el lado sombreado asi haya seleccionado un poco mas de la roca de a su lado, con el bote de pintura en modo multiplicar ya que son elementos cerrados por la linea; de la misma manera creo las luces base.
Me ayudo de las profundidades para texturizar con pinceles los elementos naturales como la grama o las hojas de los árboles. A final de cuenta el pincel va brindando los detalles de cada elemento por su naturaleza segun escojamos el pincel adecuado.
Casi siempre termino con muchisimos layers mas de los planeados, puesto que como ejemplo la laguna, está compuesta de una imagen fotografica de rocas modificadas en perspectiva, otras capas de colores degradados y otras de detalles dibujados como es el caso del reflejo de la luz en las ondas del agua, pero cuando estoy conforme rasterizo y me libero de algo de espacio. Cuando tienes muchos layers, una imagen de 300 dpi de mas de 2000 pixels de cada lado puede tornarse un infierno.
